1. Innovation in production technology

(1) Green catalytic technology

Non-acid catalyst substitution: Traditional ATBC production uses concentrated sulfuric acid as the esterification catalyst, which is prone to side reactions and equipment corrosion. At present, the following are mostly adopted:

Solid acid catalysts (such as molecular sieves, heteropoly acids, and sulfonated carbon materials) enhance selectivity and reduce wastewater.

Enzyme catalysis (lipase immobilization technology) : Esterification is achieved under mild conditions, reducing energy consumption

Continuous flow process: It replaces the traditional batch reaction and shortens the production cycle (such as microchannel reactor technology, which improves mass transfer efficiency).

(2) Energy conservation and purification optimization

Molecular distillation technology: It is used for the refinement of high-purity ATBC, replacing traditional vacuum distillation and reducing the risk of heat-sensitive degradation.

Wastewater recycling: Recycling technologies for citric acid and alcohol raw materials (such as membrane separation and adsorption methods) reduce the discharge of waste liquid.

2. Raw material Innovation and Bio-based transformation

Bio-based citric acid: Utilizing microbial fermentation (Aspergillus Niger) to produce citric acid from renewable resources such as corn and sugarcane, reducing the carbon footprint.
